A different kind of childbirth preparation. A little yoga, a little education, and a whole lotta love. This series of five workshops includes prenatal yoga asana for all levels of pregnancy and yoga ability, and childbirth education topics delivered in an inclusive and enjoyable format. If you are expecting a baby, or planning for a pregnancy, and also want to prepare yourself, mind, body and spirit, these classes are for you. Register for all five workshops for a complete and comprehensive childbirth education class, or select the workshops that interest you. They are spread out on alternating Saturdays and will send you home with partner activities and partner yoga poses to practice and connect in between.

Workshop Schedule

Each day will include a 60 minute prenatal yoga asana practice, focused discussion, learning activities and more.

Saturday, September 16, 2-5:30pm– Foundation for Your Ideal Birth-

We will discuss making mindful choices for pregnancy and birth, care providers, and how to choose one that is right for you, prenatal wellness and testing, nutrition, and managing stress. This workshop is the first in a series of five workshops, or perfect for people trying to conceive, or in early pregnany and looking to connect with other couples and learn more about your pregnant body and how to nourish it.

Saturday, September 30, 2-5:30pm– All about birth-

We will learn about the stages of labor and pain management, laboring and pushing positions. We will delve into the physiologic process of birth as well as some yoga philosophy with regard to birth and new life.

Saturday, October 14, 2-5:30pm–  Know your Options: Informed Decisions, Hospital Procedures and Medications-

We will discuss how to make informed decisions during pregnancy and birth and why it matters. We will discuss hospital procedures, the available pain medication options in different birth settings, the benefits and risks of each, and creating a birth plan.

Saturday, October 28, 2-5:30pm– Exploring The Five Senses & Birth- We will talk about how to create your ideal birth environment, finding comfort through touch, smell, sound, and taste, and of course, movement. We will discuss massage for labor, partner support, oxytocin and connection.

Saturday, November 11, 2-6pm– Preparing for your Fourth Trimester-

Much thought and planning goes into the birth of your new baby, rightfully so, but the time after baby also demands some thought and planning. In this workshop, we will learn all about breastfeeding and infant care, creating a postpartum plan, nutrition for the optimal care your family following the life-changing event of birth.


These classes are taught by Sarah Romero, a certified doula (DTI),registered yoga teacher and mother of two young children.

This workshop series is taught by Sarah Romero, who is a certified birth and postpartum doula, and an E-RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.
