Hi, I’m Sarah,
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International, (DTI) and a registered yoga teacher in Albuquerque, NM. I am so completely in love with birth, life, love, the human body, and the mingling of all of the above.
I am passionate about providing culturally competent and inclusive doula care and childbirth classes to ALL families, and creating community for growing families to find your village, and your inner voice and strength.
History and Training
I received my 200 hour yoga teaching certificate in 2011 and began teaching and managing a hot yoga studio, and then later opened up a boutique studio with now husband, under our apartment. After my own experiences with pregnancy, birth and postpartum depression, I was drawn to birth work, and attended a DTI training in 2016. As a birth doula, I have supported VBAC’S, cesarean births, and vaginal births. I love babies and children, and have much experience caring for them as both a parent of my own and a nanny both professionally, and for fun. I pride myself on being a forever student and staying curious about life, birth, love and growth. In February 2017 I completed an advanced prenatal yoga teacher certification with Pranakriya and now offer Yoga-born childbirth preparation programs to my clients and community. I am presently completing another 100 hour yoga school at Sweat Yoga Studio.
A little about me…
I am very detail-oriented person, and for me, studying or reading is relaxation, which is why yoga has become such a crucial part of my life. I have a little inner artist, which I believe we all have, actually. I raise my children with an AP approach, which is also how I nanny, so I love and have knowledge to pass along about safe co-sleeping, bedsharing, and babywearing, if you want it. If I haven’t read about it, I would love to, so as a doula, you can think of me as your pregnancy and birth concierge, if you will. I love birth and yoga, which is why I made it my job and I am thankful for the privilege to do what I love so that I never truly “work”. I literally do a happy dance when I get new work. I participate in monthly Doulas of the Southwest mini classes/teas at the Albuquerque Birth network in Nob Hill. You can catch these classes the second Saturday of each month.
