Hi, I’m Sarah, CD (DTI)
I am a native New Mexican and mother of two, providing prenatal yoga and doula services to families in the Albuquerque and surrounding areas.
After becoming a mother, I realized the importance of community and family and desired to be an active part of my community. After conquering my own journey with postpartum depression, my interest in providing support to mother and families during the childbearing year grew. As a yoga instructor, I gently guided students through a series of movements and most importantly breath, and provided witness to the growth, power and strength of their practice. It is my goal to provide this same support and witness, with a focus on the birthing person and their team. The journey through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood is a very personal one, and one that you must forge yourself. As your doula, I hope to share with you resources, and tools to help you to find your way to birth and parent. I am passionate about providing culturally competent and inclusive doula care to ALL families, and creating community for growing families from pregnancy, to birth, and beyond.
History and Training
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula (DTI) and registered yoga teacher in Albuquerque, NM. I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification in 2010, with the Sacred Hot Yoga Method. Before pregnancy and motherhood drew me to birth work, I managed and taught yoga with my husband in a small studio underneath our apartment. As a birth doula, I have supported VBAC’S, cesarean births, and vaginal births. I love babies and children, and have much experience caring for them as both a parent of my own and a nanny both professionally, and for fun. I pride myself on being a forever student and staying curious about life, birth, love and growth. I am currently enrolled in Gena Kirby’s Cultured Doula Program. I also recently completed an advanced prenatal yoga teacher certification with Pranakriya and now offer Yoga-born childbirth preparation programs to my clients and community.
