Meet Sarah…

20180628DoulasoftheSouthwest-8I am a certified birth and postpartum doula through Doula Trainings International, (DTI) and a registered yoga teacher in Albuquerque, NM. I am so completely in love with birth, life, love, the human body, and the mingling of all of the above.

I am passionate about providing culturally competent and inclusive doula care and childbirth classes to ALL families, and creating community for growing families to find your village, and your inner voice and strength.

History and Training

I received my 200 hour yoga teaching certificate in 2011 and began teaching immediately after.   After my own varying experiences with pregnancy, birth and postpartum depression,  I was drawn to work with families during the childbearing period.  I attended a DTI training in 2016 and bought Desert Birth and Wellness in September the same year. As a birth doula, I have supported VBAC’S, cesarean births, and vaginal births. I love babies and children, and have much experience caring for them as both a parent of my own and a nanny both professionally, and for fun. I pride myself on being a forever student and staying curious about life, birth, love and growth. In February 2017 I completed an advanced prenatal yoga teacher certification with Pranakriya and now offer Yoga-born childbirth preparation programs to my clients and community. I am currently enrolled in a 300 hour yoga teacher training which will complete in December 2018.

A little about me…

I am a mother of two fabulous children, with another coming to us in January 2019.   I love birth and yoga, which is why I made it my job and I am thankful for the privilege to do what I love so that I never truly “work”. I participate in monthly Doulas of the Southwest mini classes/teas at the Albuquerque Birth Network in Nob Hill. You can catch these classes the second Saturday of each month. You can also come to my prenatal yoga class Wednesdays at 11am at Everliving Wellness.
